Silver is in high demand around the world yet there are still ways you can find free silver with a bit of luck. This article will talk about a couple of ways that you can start to build start your silver journey with free silver.
Coin (Roll) Hunting
People in the community of silver collecting and stacking are very familiar with this idea. Ever get change back from a restaurant and see a particularly old coin? There is a possibility that it is partially composed of silver! One free way of getting silver is just paying attention to the coins that cross your hands. If you like treasure hunting for free, you can go roll hunting. This is where you go to your bank or anyone else who will exchange funds for rolls of coins. Let’s say you have $100 in you pocket. You can go to your bank and request an exchange for $100 in half-dollar coins.
This would give you rolls of the half-dollars. You then would sift through them to see if you had any with silver content (see chart below to know what coins have silver content). Lets say you find a 1964 half-dollar, this is 90% silver and you just obtained free silver! This is valued substantially higher than the coin face value of fifty cents. You can then return to the bank and deposit all of the non silver coins back into whatever way you like your money held.
Shopping with Intention
Another way to find free silver is to go to estate sales, resale stores like Goodwill, or antique stores. You often can find old single cutlery, jewelry, or home furnishings like platters that are made out of sterling silver. This is not fine silver like a bullion coin but it is a high amount of silver and can fetch a pretty penny. Selling this silver would actually in most cases make you money so it is better than free!

Channels on YouTube occasionally have give-a-ways or GAW. This usually is as easy as subscribing to a channel and getting lucky that you will be selected. An example would be the CultureOfCurrency channel on YouTube who has promised that once the channel gets monetized, he will be using 10% of his earnings to buy silver to give back to winning subscribers. Demolition
This is probably the most time consuming and least rewarding but it is free silver. Silver is used in so many products such as solar panels and electronics. You have to educate yourself on where to find silver in products and there are some recourses out there to help you such as YouTube. You then would find discarded items and purge them of the scrap silver until you have enough weight to sell.
